S-H Robotics Lab Members Attend IEEE RoboSoft 2025 in Switzerland

Dr. Xiong Ya and Dr. Lin Sen from the S-H Robotics Lab attended the 8th IEEE-RAS International Conference on Soft Robotics (RoboSoft 2025) in Switzerland from April 22-25, 2025, followed by an academic visit to EPFL (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne).
Conference Highlights
The conference focused on bio-inspired design, benchmarking, and industrial applications of soft robotics, attracting participants from over 20 countries. Key activities included:
- Oral Presentation: Dr. Xiong Ya presented “High-Tolerance Soft-Rigid Gripper for Low-Damage Robotic Strawberry Harvesting”, showcasing collaborative advancements with the Haidian District Bureau of Agriculture.
- Poster Session: Dr. Lin Sen shared research on selective harvesting robots and soft robotic end-effectors.
- Competitions: The team observed competitions in raspberry harvesting and pipe inspection robotics, sparking discussions on agricultural applications.
Academic Visit to EPFL CREATE Lab
On April 23, the team visited the CREATE Lab at EPFL, exploring cutting-edge research including:
